Location: Northeast Edmonton, within city limits

Description of operation:
The property of Riverbend Gardens was purchased in 1958 by Clarence and Jennie Visser. They farmed the land until 1981 when their son and his wife, Doug and Evelyn Visser, began growing vegetables. They started with a couple of acres and today with their Children, Janelle and Aaron Herbert and Kevin Visser, grow 75 acres of vegetables. They sell through wholesale and at 6 Farmers Markets. Cityfarm Edmonton is also located on their property.

Direct marketing through farmers markets, selling through wholesalers, irrigation, crop rotation, harvesting.

General work expectations:
In order to the a very real experience of our farming operation, we feel it is important that your work reflects our own. Therefore you are expected to be available six days per week.

Lodging: No lodging available on farm, however is within a 15 minute drive from the city of Edmonton.
